BEING HUMANITY IN THE MIDDLE OF COVID 19

 

At the end of 2019 the world was rocked with a dangerous virus that was in

thought to be from one of the cities in China. Since its appearance in the bamboo curtain country, this disease has been able to steal the attention of all human from various countries in the world. The rapid spread of the virus is a threat to every human being. Until now, it has been confirmed that as many as 65 countries have contracted the corona virus (WHO data, March 1, 2020) (PDPI, 2020). Lung specialist doctor at the Central General Hospital (RSUP) of Friendship, Erlina Burhan, said that Covid-19 transmission was carried out directly through droplets or saliva splashes. The WHO says the corona virus can spread through tiny droplets from the nose or mouth when someone infected with the virus sneezes or coughs. WHO also mentioned the common symptoms of someone infected with this virus are fever, fatigue, and dry cough. And there are some patients who experience aches and pains, nasal congestion, colds, sore throat or diarrhea. For this reason, WHO and medical staff agree, to urge the public to reduce social interaction.

            Based on the WHO statement, medical personnel, and supported by news about the dangers of this virus. It is very natural if people become afraid. As a result of this fear that led to panic, there are also many new cases that are very inhumane, especially for those infected with the corona virus or their families. Like the case that happened in Riau Province. Based on the website PEKANBARU, KOMPAS.com - One of the families of patients died due to the corona virus in Riau Province was subjected to harassment or being bullied by residents. In addition there are still many cases of other inhuman cases that occur around us, whether it is designated by patients and families of patients infected with the corona virus, or to ordinary people who have symptoms of this disease. Though not necessarily they are positive covid 19 or negative.

            As a result of the covid 19 outbreak, many people are selfish. For example by hoarding masks, stocking food ingredients, selling masks and hand sanitizers at high prices, to buying and using personally the equipment that should be used by medical personnel to be able to help covid patients 19. As a result, many people from the lower middle class are unable to to buy these items at affordable prices, limited medical equipment, limited food supplies, and much more. This shows how we, as human beings, cannot be humane and cooperate in dealing with this 19th plague. Though in fact humans are social beings who cannot live alone, humans need other people to be able to live their lives.

There are many ways that we can continue to help each other or remain humanity in the midst of this 19th plague, such as:

• By not bullying and discriminating against patients or their families, we must instead provide support and encouragement to them.

• Help campaign for things that can help the public in relation to the 19th plague. Such as providing information on symptoms, ways of transmission, and how to prevent covid outbreaks 19.

• Participate in the social actions aimed at helping the economy of citizens by distributing food or food. But this must be done by covid 19 procedures and accompanied by the State aperature.





• Creating small posts that are useful in the home area such as a place to share basic groceries and others.

• Participate in donations to help others whose survival has been affected by workplace education needs, and so on.

Corona virus is indeed a threat to everyone, dangerous and even deadly. But we also must not be selfish just to save ourselves or one's own group. Acting in anticipation is needed, but don't forget to always see the people around us. "In the end it wasn't corona that killed us. But your own brothers, who have money! In droves, poke a mask until it's empty! Poor people can only stay quiet, killed because of hunger. Who is more evil. Corona or human? " (Aming, 2020).
